Here is an illustration of the ‘Rennweg‘ in Zurich. A Rennweg apparently being a medieval main road that carried horse and cart. It’s now one of the most popular attractions in Zurich, known for it’s colourful display of Canton flags. At the centre of the composition stands the church of St. Peter. It’s one of the four main steeples that can been seen around the old town. I’ve scouted this part of the City a few times, so I had lots of source material to work from.
So everything is finally back up and running in the studio, hurray! technically the lights have been on for a week or so, but it’s not until I have the first illustration under my belt that I feel everything is truly back to normal. I’ve had the idea for this one sat in a sketchbook for a little while now. Sometimes it’s nice to just pick something up that doesn’t have a project or agenda attached to it. Just a fun colourful street scene from a fascinating City!
I have some more Zurich scenes planned, but if you have any suggestions for specific scenes that you’d like to see, I’d love to hear them! You can leave me comments or ideas below and i’ll try to incorporate it into my Swiss art trail.
