January and February have a reputation for being slow for creative work, not so 2017. I’ve already been working hard on a big list of illustrations for HEX digital in London, part of a fascinating digital project scheduled to be launched at the end of March. My hand painted studies will be one of the main elements in a new multimedia App and Microsite. It features scenes and stories from 12 locations, including a number of English Cities i’ve yet to have the pleasure of working from.
Here’s a few sketches from the early compositions. There will be lots of background illustrations, feature buildings and spot details. As well as a number of portraits for the important characters describe in each location’s stories. I’ll be covering the twelve English Cities of Carlisle, Chester, Durham, Lancaster, York, Lincoln, Stratford, Oxford, Cambridge, Bath, Salisbury and Greenwich.
It’s going to be a wonderful showcase for my illustrative style and should provide me with plenty of new challenges too. I’ll look forward to sharing the launch details soon!
