The weather seems to be turning a little warmer, the sun shining a little more often and perhaps we’ll soon be moving from Spring to Summer. That also means we are firmly into wedding season! Over the years it’s become a bit of a tradition to provide an artwork with a personal connection for any weddings we attend, but we’re not alone… it’s also been my pleasure to create bespoke artwork for a number of private commissions, intended to be given as gifts on a wedding day. Sometimes painted on little gift size canvases but sometimes, like this image of Wandsworth Town Hall, created on heavyweight paper ready for framing. Wandsworth Town Hall was originally opened by Queen Mary in 1937. It is a Grade II listed building noted for its original art deco design and grand marble hall.
Grand Architecture
I know a few people have worried about asking for these kinds of commissions, thinking them too trivial. But the great thing for me is the really varied landscapes and architecture that can be found in the thousands of wedding venues across the country. I may have other big projects to deal with, but these little studies will always be a fun distraction.
