Painted Cities opens at Winchester Discovery Centre - Jonathan Chapman
It was a quiet January on the studio blog as I purposely avoided the computer to give me more time making artwork ahead of my big Winchester exhibition. Lots of preparation and planning, reframing originals and trying to finish the big key canvas.

Last week we hung the paintings in the City Space at Winchester Discovery Centre. I say we, as Kirsty and Mike from Hampshire Cultural Trust did most of the hard work! I’m extremely grateful to them for how good the room looked ahead of opening.

The private view turned out to be a relaxed affair, as Hampshire was hit with a big snowstorm on Friday night (what timing!). I’m just glad it went ahead and I want to thank everyone who made the effort to brave the freezing February weather!

Painted Cities opens this week to the public – everything seems to be back to normal, so the exhibition is now open for anybody that would like to wander in.
