This isn’t my first experiment with cutting out my images, but i’ve recently found myself drawn back to the idea and started playing with some new little compositions. Here’s a small study of the Winchester Buttercross set in front of the typical High Street architecture.

It’s a fairly simplistic setup at the moment but I think it’s rather effective when displayed within a deep box frame. I can see myself getting carried away with these and creating more elaborate, larger setups.

A few of my early attempts using some of the small illustrations from my pattern designs can also be seen on display at the Painted Cities exhibition running until the end of March.
