Congratulations to Yarty! two of their products have been selected as finalists in the Great British Food Awards. ‘B’ Black Garlic Vinegar and a Raspberry & Hibiscus cordial. They asked me to create an advert that will run in the monthly Great British Food magazine this Autumn, alongside the awards coverage and featuring the black garlic. The vinegar is beautiful, like a fine balsamic, and with its dark label lends itself brilliantly to a more dramatic scene.
That label has wonderful copper foiling too; inspiration for this golden digital illustration. The line work was all created in Fresco on the iPad Pro. Filling the space surrounding the bottle. All the hand drawn elements and text were then pulled together on the desktop in Photoshop; before saving out to print ready files. It will be fascinating to see what sort of statement it makes on the page when published. We hope it will be a bold one! I’m incredibly grateful to Jayne and David, who have encouraged me to use my more painterly style. Their brand has so much potential to play with the artwork and create some really eye-catching designs… I’m excited to see what we can come up with next!
I’m never going to stop creating my original fine art pieces and leave the artist behind. But, like this British Food Awards Advert, I am very much enjoying adding more commercial work to my portfolio this year. If you’d like to commission me for a project, or licence existing artwork you can find more details and my contact here.
