Here’s a little return to the Alps, a private commission of Alpbach in Austria. It was painted with acrylic & ink on 20 x 20cm deep edge canvas and intended to be given as a gift. I do love a wintery mountainside… full of snow topped chalets and evergreen trees. I don’t think i’ll ever get bored of playing with blue and distance too.Sadly I didn’t get to research this Alpbach scene in person, as it was all done from online references. If you’ve followed my work at all you’ll have certainly seen plenty of Alpine scenes, usually focused on the Swiss mountains. I’ve been incredibly lucky to see many of those locations first hand. I suspect there’s many of you that have missed travelling to this part of the world; but it’s heartening to hear of families getting those opportunities again now.

Big thank you to Peter and Annabel for commissioning this fantastic scene. If you’re interested in a similar project drop me a line; or have a little browse at my private commission guide.
