Here’s a sunny view I forgot to post. You know how you just forget about a whole original canvas you’ve worked incredibly hard on. We’ve all done that… right? Ah, well probably just me. This one was a personal piece, not done on commission or with a particular project in mind, which is probably why I didn’t get round to posting in on the site. It was exhibited as part of the wonderful Easton Flower Festival earlier in the year. So here’s some photos and a little details video of ‘Sun on the High Street, Winchester’.
It’s an acrylic and ink on canvas (my go to materials) and once framed is 55 x 75cm on the wall. I pieced the view together from my own reference photos and drawings done back at the studio. But the colours and warmth of the painting was all inspired by a glorious morning in the Spring sunshine; just wandering around the City for some outdoor time. It wasn’t long after my arm had been broken.
It feels like a good time to finally post a glowing ‘Sun on the High Street, Winchester‘… as the Autumn rolls in; there’s a similar golden light that drifts and illuminates. But i’m still going to go now and check all the corners of the studio; to see if there are any other large artworks i’ve misplaced 😬.
