It’s been an absolute pleasure to work with a couple of German companies this year. One directly and another on behalf of Yarty, who are working with a major distributor for the European market. We’ve been sharing food and drink illustrations with them since the Spring… and this month it was very exciting to see them appearing alongside translated text.

Most of the artwork had been created for the 2022 Yarty Recipe booklet. But it was nice to be able to offer some little touches to those existing illustrations… with translated labels for the products. There was also a nod to a German favourite; white asparagus. It’s drawn here with the black garlic vinegar and used in a special designed recipe for the local market. The distributor collecting them together for their own little recipe book, to be offered to customers and retailers.

Congratulations to Jayne and David who have grown into this role as international exporters, while somehow retaining the handmade in Hampshire feel. I’m delighted to have been included in these projects (and made to feel like i’m part of the Yarty family 😊). I wonder where else in the world they might expand to… there could be some fun translations to be done in the years ahead!
