I’ve had the privilege of seeing my work showcased on the Winchester Magazine a number of times now. This Christmas I was delighted to be invited once again to feature ‘Night Before Christmas, Winchester’ as their Winter 2024 artwork. It’s a nice portrait composition and, I think, works brilliantly as an atmospheric cover illustration.
It’s always nice to get a mention on the inside too; with a profile on ‘Our Cover Artist’. I was a little taken aback by my daughter’s reaction to seeing me in there “Your famous Daddy!” ha ha not quite my darling… In truth I think it was a mixture of impressed and embarrassed, so I shouldn’t get too carried away.
Cringeworthy family moments aside, this was also a wonderful opportunity to namecheck a couple of my stockists in the City… and they happen to be two of the oldest businesses in town, the booksellers P&G Wells and stationers Warren & Son. I feel it’s especially important to support those independent stores at this time of year. But they are always welcoming and seem happy to upsell my illustrations!
